The Third book in the ‘Last Apprentice’ series and one of the darkest ones by far, here we are taken on a far longer journey as the plot slows down making it difficult to read at first, but things pick up swiftly. Tom like any curious person pokes his nose into things he should have left be, and chaos ensues, not to mention the larger threat looming on the horizon which is kept hidden for so long. This book truly does itself justice by expanding upon the many characters and showing just what these poor souls are up against in their struggle against the darkness. - @Kuhaica of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
