Probably my favorite Oz book. It's got so many great characters, Polychrome being my personal favorite. The trials and tribulations Dorothy goes through is so much fun and so imaginative. Get your kids hooked on the Oz books early and you won't be disappointed.

This is one of my favourite books in one of my favourite series as a child. It is basically a road trip, with Dorothy meeting up with a variety of companions who accompany her on another journey to Oz. I always personaly liked it quite a bit better than The Wizard of Oz. L.Frank Baum gives full reign to both his fantastic imagination and his irreverent humour here. I just read this book to my 9 and 11 year olds, and I am delighted to report that they both loved it and often laughed out loud. Still a great read after all these years.
