The charisma of George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer keep this film buoyant. ONE FINE DAY revolves around one chaotic day in the city with a divorced mother who balances her busy architecture job with her young son and a divorced father whose daughter is thrust upon him when his ex-wife goes away on her honeymoon. The premise is simply that life is busy, busy, busy, and that sometimes you need help to juggle all the chainsaws. I decided that it was merely casting that made me enjoy this film because it is flimsy otherwise. Still, I liked it all the same and for those who live for generic rom-coms with big names, then ONE FINE DAY will be a mighty fine pick for you.

Am uninspired romantic comedy. One hectic day in the life of a middle-aged professional man and woman, both having one child, both divorced, and living in Manhattan. Their only commonality is both kids go to the same elementary school. A scheduling problem with the kids throws their life together for the day. It's a good plot idea in theory, but in practice, poorly executed. The principle problem is the two main characters, and the actors who play them. There's just no chemistry between Mr. Clooney and Ms. Pfeiffer. And the net result is there's simply no reason for the viewer to like either of them. The director tries to make it interesting by keeping the plot fast paced; but all that does is cause a lot of uninteresting stuff to happen faster. Not recommended.
