The only way
Detective Alex Cross is one of the first on the scene of the biggest case he's ever been part of. The President's son and daughter have been abducted from their school - an impossible crime, but somehow the kidnapper has done it. Alex does everything he can but is shunted to the fringes of the investigation. Someone powerful doesn't want Cross too close.
To stop Alex Cross
A deadly contagion in the DC water supply threatens to cripple the capital, and Alex sees the looming shape of the most devastating attack the United States has ever experienced. He is already working flat-out on the abduction, and this massive assault pushes Cross completely over the edge.
Is to kill him
With each hour that passes, the chance of finding the children alive diminishes. In an emotional private meeting, the First Lady asks Alex to please save her kids. Even the highest security clearance doesn't get him any closer to the kidnapper - and Alex makes a desperate decision that goes against everything he believes. A full-throttle thriller with unstoppable action, unrestrained emotion, and relentless suspense, Kill Alex Cross is the most gripping Alex Cross novel James Patterson has ever written.

Patterson's books have become repetitive and unoriginal. In this book, it would appear Detective Cross can do the things that even the Secret Service cannot do.

Not as good as his other books in the Alex Cross Series. Don't understand the title because I didn't feel that he was in any danger through the whole story.

I really, really liked this book! I read this book in one weekend because I couldn't put it down. It had a great plot, satisfying story line, good ending and was well edited. James Patterson really is a pro. This book gets a solid A rating from me. Well done.

2 stories in one book - kidnapping of the president's children and Muslim terrorists doing damage in Washington, DC. Each story is independent of each other, except for the similarity of location and involvement of intelligence agents. However, in one storyline the involvement is successful while in the other it is a draw.
Enjoyable read despite the 3 page chapters. It seems that those of Muslim faith are now replacing Russians as the bad guys in novels. Title of book is misleading as Alex Cross doesn't seem to be in any danger in any of the situations. This novel has only Patterson's name on the title page, if that means anything to you.

It was okay. James Patterson has written far better books. And how many time is the presidents children going to be kidnapped before this story gets old???
And if I hadn't read the comments below, I wouldn't have remembered the terrorist story line!!! go figure...

OMG I loved loved this book, not what I expected. JP has been of his game, whereby I found the books all followed a same format. I didn't find this one was the same way. First time I cried at the end of any of his books.

This was okay. I've read Alex Cross stuff before, and I did like them--plots, characters, etc. This book, however, seemed to be two story lines in one book, and almost felt unrelated to each other. Each story line could have been fleshed out into a complete story. I was really frustrated about the lack of ending concerning the terrorist group, and the remaining female member. James Patterson just seemed to clean up the story and put it to bed once the plot line concerning the president's kids was resolved.

A very good Alex Cross story by Patterson in which he where the president's children have been kidnapped from a private school. He is originally kept out of the investigation, but is then brought in to help the FBI and the story weaves around from there.
An interesting sub-plot having to do with Middle Eastern terrorists leads to some mis-direction in the story.
I know that the next book in the Alex Cross series will be a continuation? from this one because there is one unresolved part that has been set up by the ending of this book. A good, fast read.

A few months after I hunted a vicious killer named the Tiger halfway around the world, I began to think seriously about a book I had been wanting to write for years. I even had the title for it: Trial. The previous book I'd written was about the role of forensic psychology in the capture of the serial killer gary Soneji. Trial would be very different, and in some ways even more terrifying
