The main focus of The Rag and Bone Shop was an interrogation. 7-year-old Alicia Bartlet is murdered, and the last person to see her alive, except for the killer, was Jason. An interrogator named Trent is brought in. He has a reputation of getting a confession from anyone, and the main body of the book is his interrogation of Jason. He twists anything Jason says to make him seem like a killer, and by the end Jason isn’t sure if he is a killer or not. This book plays on the phrase “You are what you do.” Jason is accused of killing someone, and possibly becomes a killer because of it.
