Funny, irreverent, and seemingly unrelated events and people are expertly woven together in this tale of good intentions gone wrong. Atkinson at her best.
Wonderful, quirky story-telling --- layer upon layer of not-so-simple plots and complex characters, all interwoven in an easy-breezy, slightly irreverent way. Loved it, and look forward to reading more by Ms. Atkinson.
Loved it. Brilliant author. I've read all the Jackson Brodie books. The title is taken from an Emily Dickinson poem, I just found out.
Interesting book, but confusing. In the final analysis, I am not quite sure what happened to whom and why. I am, however, tempted to try another by this author because both the subject matter and the writing style were excellent. A gritty British murder mystery with corrupt cops and abused children.

My favourite by this author. Loved the characters, the action and the happy ending. And of course the dog. I hope the author brings them all back in another thrilling story.
I love how the Jackson Brodie books always weave this web that keeps you wondering how it will all fit together.
One child bought & sold, two others adopted or kidnapped? Once again, Jackson Brodie solves the mystery. I love how the story unfolds in bits & pieces; the reader is engaged in putting together the clues.
As usual with Atkinson, great writing, complex plot, but she left so much hanging at the end of this one, I'm hoping she's got the next one in progress to resolve the loose ends.
A good read. Very well written with very likeable characters. One of the author's better books by my reckoning.
