Having spent years in a Russian prison, Lucas North is welcomed back by MI-5 supremo and old friend Harry Pearce, who was instrumental in finally securing his release. Lucas is keen to get back to work straight away and, with Section D's current priority operation having a strong Russian connection, he could well prove invaluable. But, after so many years with only a high ranking Russian spymaster for company, can Lucas's loyalty really be taken for granted?

I started watching this series at series 7. I liked the story line so continued with the series through series 10. Very good.

I watched a later season and got a bit lost. This is season 7 and a MI-5 agent is returned to England after 8 years being held hostage by the Russians. I had to look this up MI-5 (Military Intelligence in Britain responsible for domestic protection.) Most of this season dealt with Russia and the FSB (Russian Secret Service - had to look that up too) and they meet with CIA operatives a couple of times. This series moves quite quickly, fast paced, interesting. Made me wonder - is Russia still that much of a threat? Super secret spy action - the series was called Spooks in the UK. Good series if you like political action / intrigue.

A new MI5 hero with issues and more suspenseful plots.

A fast-paced series; well-done!
