Timothy Knatchbull is the grandchild of Earl Louis Mountbatten (cousin of the Queen). He and his twin brother Nicholas and parents were on their grandfather’s boat that was blown up by the IRA near Mullaghmore, County Silgo in August 1979. Timothy was fourteen years old when he lost his grandparents and twin brother, Nicholas. Twenty-four years later he returned to the area to grieve and heal from this traumatic event. What I most enjoyed about this book is the ability of Timothy and his family to have the capacity to forgive the Irish people and the role that a loving family has to overcome adversity.

This is a wonderful book, to read. It talks about grief and learning about our past.
